From the dust and debris

Hand-blown glass lenses, steel cabling, LEDs 2023
7.5m x 2m x 3m

From the Dust and Debris’ references the perennial tradition of treating domed architecture as a cosmological canopy, as well as the recent transformation of our image of the universe through the new technologies of space telescopes. The installation is comprised of glass lenses suspended like satellites, which inter-mediate. The colours are inspired by spectroscopic studies of supernovas, where dust and debris provide the building blocks for a new generation of stars, which is mirrored in the alchemy of glassmaking.
